Schroth makes the finest driver restraint systems in the world. They have a variety of unique features:
RFR (regressive force release) camlock.
Schroth's composite camlock is a patented system that has no protruding handles and a built-in "dead-zone." RFR comes from the fact that the opening force required starts higher and then gets less. All of this is to prevent accidental opening of the harness, such as being bumped by an elbow in a tight cockpit.
High quality polyester webbing.
Schroth custom-tailors the belt webbing for each strap type (shoulder, lap, and anti-sub strap). Lap & sub belts are made more rigid to keep you planted in the seat, while shoulder belts allow for controlled stretching under severe load to help minimize forces on the head & neck. This feature is the primary difference between Schroth and many of the "bargain basement" harnesses.
High-quality adjuster hardware.
The adjusters on Schroth's harnessbelt systems stay tight, and don't release until the adjuster is tilited 90 degrees to the direction of the belt. This prevents the "belt creep" that cheaper harnesses often experience. In other words, once it's tight, it stays tight. |
