Traqmate makes one of the most user-friendly data acquisition systems on the market today. The main features of all Traqmate Systems are:
Compartmentalized System:
The Traqmate system is reduced to a few components. The Traqmate Complete has the sensor unit, the antenna, and the display. You can hook it up in minutes: the sensor & display unit can be locked in place with velcro & zip ties, and the magnetic antenna easily mounts to any surface with a clear view of the sky. There's only a couple of cables: sensor unit to display, antenna to sensor unit, and power cable to sensor unit. An optional batter pack is available. The Basic system lacks the display unit, but is even more portable. You can literally share the same system between drivers & cars.
Powerful Sensor Unit
Traqmate's sensor unit contains a GPS locator system (which means it needs no beacons to worry about), and a 4-position accelerometer. Interfaces are available to hook in RPM signals or other inputs. It creates a track map, records speed, cornering, braking, and accelration G's. The stanard memory can hold up to 22 hours of data depending on sampling rate (which you can select).
Display Unit
Traqmate complete comes with a high-contrast display/control unit that allows you to control many of the Traqmate's functions without having to hook up a laptop. This includes staritng & stopping a session, setting the start/finish line for a given track, or switiching between different drivers, vehicles and tracks. In addition, Tramate complete allows several display modes, including a qualifying mode with a real-time predictive lap feature that lets you know if you're going faster or slower than your best lap.
Analysis Software
TraqView is an extremely simple analysis program to use. You can set up graphs of everything the system records: cornering or braking G's, speed vs. time or distance, it can even calculate which gear you're in based on RPM & speed. The software has free-form tools to break a lap into segments for further analysis. Segmenting allows comparisons between individual drivers or sessions on specific sections of the track, and allows the calculaion of a "Theoretical Best Lap" that consists of your best segments put together. TraqView can even let you run virtual "races" between different drivers or sessions for comparison.
Integrated Video
Traqmate integrates with ChaseCam digital video recorders to provide the ultimate in data gathering. The TraqStudio software allows a video overlay in TraqView. It even will splice together a video of your theoretical best lap! It also allows you to create a video file with your data overlay for video authoring. A complete traqmate video system is less than what some companies charge for just a recorder!. |
